Perseus, after-school childcare in Abbots leigh

I'm a 19-year-old from North Somerset. In my spare time, I love to be outdoors within nature, read, listen to music, do jigsaw puzzles, or play with my dog.

I have recently completed my 'Level 3 Childcare & Education: Early Years Educator' Diploma with a Grade 'A', and I am also fully Paediatric First Aid trained. Additionally, I have completed my 'Level 2 Understanding Mental Health' Certificate.

With experience in after-school clubs, placements within early years settings, private tutoring, babysitting, and work as a nursery practitioner, I am willing to work with children aged 2-years-old through to 14-years-old.

I spent 4-years working with Girlguides as a Young Leader for Brownies, and 1-year as a Young Leader for Guides.

Within my role as a Young Leader, I worked with girls aged 6-years-old to 14-years-old, supporting them with friendship difficulties, providing a safe space for them to talk about things that were troubling them, or talk about their achievements.

I also helped to organize and run a wide range of activities including survival skills, safe fire lighting, map reading & navigation, teamwork & team leader skills, and much more!

I provided one-to-one private childcare & tutoring support for a 7/8-year-old for 5-months at his home. I would spend 1-hour every Saturday & Sunday with him, playing tennis, talking about anything & everything, discussing worries or concerns, talking about things he was proud of or excited about, and much more.

These 1-hour sessions would consist of us playing tennis, or focussing on some other activity, whilst he talked to me as this made it easier for him to talk.

I also provided some tutoring around Maths & English to build his confidence within education.
