Rachel, after-school childcare in Bournemouth BH10

Hi, I'm Rachel. I am a 19 year old student in year 2 of a BSc Biology degree, having finished Bournemouth School for Girls with 11 GCSEs mostly As, 5 AS levels and 3 A-levels. I have worked with children in a wide range of volunteering positions from a toddler group (3 mths - 3 yrs), a rainbow guides group (5-7 yrs), a youth group (7-11 yrs) and tutoring for secondary school pupils. This wide range of experience means I find planning and carrying out activities with any age group easy and I have a lot of materials already. I am also a keen musician, playing the flute to grade 7 and the drum kit to grade 5, along with an AS in music and grade 5 theory. I find that lots of children thrive with music around them and it can be especially soothing to young children.

I had a first aid certificate which is now out of date but I am planning on joining the St. John's ambulance in September and have previously completed work experience in healthcare roles. I also have a current DBS check.
