Shelby, after-school childcare - BT5 Crossnacreevy

I am Shelby and I have gained an extended diploma in child care and development. I have a level 2 in food safety and qualified in paediatric first aid. I have always looked after cousins and family members and this is where my passion stems from. I believe that caring emotionally and physcially for children is essential as well as keeping them stimulated at all times, I do this through games, arts and crafts and activities the children enjoy. I like to incorporate learning into all games for example counting the figures or discussing how the figures look and help extend their language.

I have worked as part of placement and voluntarily in a nursery and primary school. I also babysit for over a year four children from 6 to newborn this was paid and outside the family. I worked one to one, with groups and with supervision took whole class activities.
