Holly, after-school childcare - CR3 Caterham

My name is Holly. I am currently a student at Reigate College studying BTEC level 3 subsidiary diplomas in Travel and Tourism and Applied Science and a BTEC national diploma in Health and Social Care; in my second year. I chose to go into the area of medical science after my first year rather than physics. In my travel and tourism course I have studied several business related units such as Unit 6 which is preparation for employment and Unit 4 Customer Service. Therefore I have a wide knowledge of the industry and have participated in various role plays, presentations and activities to give me practical skills that I can use in a job in future. Another unit we covered was European destinations therefore I have an understanding of several countries in Europe.
From my Health and Social diploma I have gained 100 hours work experience in schools for children with special needs, this has given me excellent communication skills with all kinds of people with different communication barriers; I can also sign at a basic level as I have had to do this at 3 placements. Some of the issues I faced there have made me develop in a way that I can deal with difficult situations and apply safety. Furthermore I have experience as bar staff and a games host at a theme park, which has been my part time jobs; I worked face to face with visitors at both of these and deal with customers all day. As I was a games host I received several complaints about things all over the park which I would have to deal with effectively and maintain customer satisfaction.
I feel the experience I have is very relevant to this role because I have got team work skills, I can deal with problems efficiently and I am very confident in interacting with new people; that is why you should consider my application. Thats a little bit about my professional side. In my spare time i like to see my friends, go to the gym and see my family which is full of children. My brother and sister are both autistic and i have lived with this and can deal with challenging children. I do a lot of babysitting for my aunties and uncles as they all have young babies and children therefore this is not something new for me. I am confident, outgoing and fun. I am looking mainly for baby sitting and part time care as i am still a student.
