I am 20 years old studying social Anthropology at Edinburgh university. I am friendly and sociable, I love the outdoors and staying active and enjoy meeting new people. I am thinking about going into a career involving childcare after university as I find a lot of joy in it and am very interested in psychological and cognitive development throughout childhood. I am living in Newcastle over summer whilst the academic year is over to from the start of June i am looking for as many hours as i can get.
During term time, I work as a nanny for a nanny to a 9 year old girl who has ADHd, autism and PDA which has been very rewarding and a big learning experience. I also nanny a 4 year old boy which includes clicking him up from nursery and making his dinner. I have worked in a nursery with toddlers aged 2-3 which has given me experience with changing nappies and potty training, and have also volunteered in a primary school helping kids aged 5-8 to catch up on their reading skills following the covid-19 pandemic. This has meant I am comfortable with any age
I have a DBS check and have done first aid training for babies, kids and adults which include 6 hours of in person training and awarded me a level 3 first aid tracing qualification. I have also completed training for an agency i work for in Edinburgh which included safeguarding, general tasks, cooking, education and miss behaviour.
