Madeleine, after-school childcare - EX39 Northam

Hello,

My name is Madeleine. I am twenty years old and have recently moved to North Devon. I attend college part-time.

I speak French fluently and am a horse rider. I am a huge animal lover and would be happy to care for any pets a household may have as well as their children. (References can be provided for animal care). I am also a good cook, so can prepare meals for the children should that be needed. I have also been trained in First Aid and Lifeguarding.

My last nannying job was with a family where I loved after 3 children. Two boys, aged 5 and 11 and a girl, aged 8. I nannied in their household during the holidays and kept them entertained by taking them on walks, bike rides and to the local park as well as many indoor activities. I also took care of the family dog which was an assistance dog. On some days I would cook lunch and dinner and of course made sure all the children ate their dreaded vegetables. I helped the children with their homework, bath times, bedtime stories, scraped knees, baking cupcakes, etc. I also watched over them during the evenings when they were asleep. Most recently I spent a week with the family away at Spring Harvest just to look after the children and allow their parents to be able to experience the break away. On a typical day, I would help the children get dressed in the morning, help their parents with them over breakfast and then pick them up from their clubs at lunch time. I would then prepare lunch for the kids and keep them entertained until dinner time. This could be accomplished by taking them to the beach or to the pool (one child could not swim so I had to keep a very watchful eye of him) where I would go in with them. There was also a fun fair I would take them to. Then, at dinner time I would help them first get their meals from the buffet and then make sure all was well before eating myself. The older two then went to evening clubs while I put the younger one to bed after bath time and story time. The older ones would come in about 9pm and then I would do the same with them. Between this time, occasionally one of the parents would rest before going out in the evening, so I would take the family dog a long evening walk.

My other experience with children comes from volunteer work with Beaucroft School. I have worked with teenagers through drama activities as well as much younger children as a classroom helper. My little brother who is 8 also has special needs so have experience in that area.

I have also worked in catering. Most recently my mother and I cooked for a party of 25 people. Though I helped prepare the food, I was alone cooking it and serving it. There were two different 3 course meals, so I can really turn my hand to anything. I also help out weekly cooking for a local kids club.

I can provide references for everything mentioned above. I am currently learning to drive, but can get lifts to local places.
