As an aspiring children's nurse, I have regularly looked after children as part of work experience in a hospital setting. I also babysit regularly for a family with children aged 4 and 8. I am heavily involved with St John Ambulance and lead the cadet (aged 10-18) and badger (aged 5-10) units, as well as being fully qualified in child and adult first aid. I also have previously coached gymnastics for children aged 2-11 and therefore am conscious of the health and safety for children, whilst still allowing them to have fun and be active. I feel I can communicate well with children and can understand what is asked of me by other adults. I can be assertive when necessary but also do not hesitate to comfort an upset child. I have an active imagination, making it easy to engage in play with children of all ages, in a wide variety of games. I have also cared for children with learning difficulties and therefore understand any potential difficulties that may arise with these conditions.
Occasional babysitting | $6.50 per hour |
Partial / after-school care | $5.00 per hour |
This is an average wage for someone of my age and I believe to be a very reasonable price.
