Laura, after-school childcare in Stoughton GU2

Hello! I’m Laura, I’m a student Midwife at the University of Surrey. My course is a mixture of placement and theory and I absolutely love what I do!

As a Midwifery student, I am a very kind and compassionate person, with my main aim always to please others, whether they be clients, friends or family. I strive to make a positive impact with empowerment of my clients being the foundation of my care. I am very conscientious and very resilient in all that I do.

Through working at a residential care home, I gained great insight in providing the best possible care and compassion to other individuals, and many applicable skills for caring for children.

My work experience as a teaching assistant at a Primary school allowed me to develop many skills required to care for children.

Furthermore, during my time at this primary school, I was tasked with supporting intervention groups with additional maths tuition. It was essential that I was able to engage with pupils in order for them to maximise their learning. Prior to each lesson, I would lease with the class teachers and fully comprehend the learning objectives for each pupil, allowing me to individualise my teaching styles to suite each child.
