Rachel, after-school childcare in Tonbridge

My name is Rachel Case and I am 18 years old and in my last year of secondary school. I am looking to do babysitting and part-time care. I was first introduced to the field of child care when looking after my younger sister. I would often take part in craft activities and play games with her - barbie dolls were her favourite! One of my main duties would also be to help my sister with her school work. I then used this experience when starting karate and was often put in charge of the children at my classes. My responsibilities included making sure that they wouldn't get bored of the classes as well as ensuring they were developing their performance in the sport. I was also a girl guide for five years before I became a senior guide for another two. Being a senior guide meant I was given the task of entertaining groups of children at the evening sessions. I found that they most effective way of spending time with the girls was to ask them what they wanted to do and do my best to make it possible. These activities usually included dressing up, crafts and more physical games which usually involved running around the hall. At guide camps we would also spend time with the scouts which meant I had to tailor my activities to keep young boys happy. They were mostly happy playing sports such as football which I would referee and round games in the fields. As I have spent so much time around children I am very well practised in various sports, games and activities.
