Rio, after-school childcare - NG3 Nottingham

My name is Rio-Imogen I am currently undergoing my A-levels at Bilborough college taking psychology, sociology and ethics and philosophy all of which I believe will help me understand aspects of individuals. I think this is a great trait when working with children because I am able to notice small things and get to know them better, creating a more relaxed and fun environment.

I am looking for employment that will let me spend time with children, I love this area of work as I enjoy Children's personality and humour. Arts and crafts, singing and many other enjoyable activities interest me. During my health and social course I spent time in a nursery playing with little children and adapting to all the Children's different needs and wants. I am a fun, loving consistent person I think its important to follow through with what you say your going to do, so that children can trust and feel comfortable with you from the very beginning.

I currently give two hours a week to care for an eighteen year old man with severe and complex needs. Even though I am supervised due to his medical needs I have a responsibility during my time with him. I ensure he is safe, I feed him and help him to participate in a range of activities such as reading, playing on his computer, singing and more. working with him has giving me so much responsibility and knowledge for the future, and is one key reason why I wish to continue in this path.
