Charmaine, after-school childcare - NG31 Londonthorpe

Hello there, my name is Charmaine i am 17 years of age and have just completed my child care level 2 diploma. During my child care course i was required to attened a vocational placement, this is where i would go to both a nursery and school and work for free to gain the knowledge and skills i need to progress with my child care career. Within the nursey i atteneded for 3-4 months i worked with the ages 0-3 years, my roles and responsibilites involved me: making formula feeds, dressing children, cleaning dirty dishes and sterilising them, making the cotts for the children to go to sleep, rocking the children to sleep, preparing snack and attending to the childrens needs within the room. I then went onto working in a primary school for 3-4months, where i worked with the ages 4-5years, my roles and responsibilites involved me, reading with the children, planning activites to help them with their intellectual development, changing reading books, practicing their writing skills, completing work tasks with them, giving the children support and guidence, cleaning the environment, helping the teacher with the learning tasks she has set for that specific day and helping the children when they need me. During my child care course it was a requirement that i took a first aid course in order to get my qualification to prepare me for when an emergancy arrises when i am caring for children. i absouletly adore children and love working with them and helping them to progress.
