Megan, after-school childcare - SY1 Shrewsbury

My name is Megan and I am twenty years old. I have recently completed four A Levels: English Literature, Government and Politics, Geology and an Extended Project (my grades were AABB), as well as Grade Six in LAMDA Acting, in which I achieved a distinction. Currently, I am taking a year out in order to gain work experience and complete an Access to Higher Education: Health course to add to my A Levels and hopefully allow me to go on to a Midwifery degree in 2016.

Of my four A Levels my favourite subject was English Literature, and I received full marks for all four of my coursework pieces. I would be more than willing to help with homework from all classes, but I am also able to offer English tuition at primary and secondary level (this would be included in my basic rates with perhaps the addition of a cup of tea!). As of November 2014 I am also a published poet, so I would be keen to help with any creative writing projects from school or just for fun as well.

Outside of academia, my main interests are reading (both classical and contemporary novels and poetry), writing poetry, baking (my cookies and brownies are famous in my family!), swimming, running (or walking) with my dog, needlework (I adore making my own cushion and quilt covers- I'm very handy sewing on buttons!) and all arts and crafts- in my opinion you are never too old for cutting-and-sticking! I have a great interest in nature as my father is a zoologist, so I love leading nature walks looking for birds and butterflies in summer, conkers and pinecones in autumn, mistletoe and holly during the winter and, of course, the first flowers of spring.

I am a friendly, open, and honest young woman with a genuine passion for education throughout life, particularly learning through play. I lead an active lifestyle, am dedicated to always doing my best, and I air on the side of optimism in every aspect of my life.

I am available for one-off babysitting jobs, regular childcare, live-out nanny positions or a combination of the above; whichever suits your family best.
