I have experience with young children (3 and under) as I babysit my nephews for my sisters. Most recently my sister took a trip to London with her partner and I was responsible for his care over a three day period- I maintained his routine, cooked and cleaned, bathed and interacted with him and escorted him to day care each day before I went to work.
I also have previous experience in a childcare setting as I had a placement at a primary school as a teaching assistant in a reception class.
I ran a music class every Friday when the school became aware of my musical ability- due to lack of funding the children's music class was a box of mismatched instruments and children had to pay for instrument lessons.
I also have experience with learning disabilities and difficulties as my younger brother is autistic I understand how to communicate effectively with children and adults who might struggle otherwise.
I've been working in the customer service sector but I am looking to start an apprenticeship in childcare next year.
I am happy to spend my own time with supervision, meeting the child(ren) as I understand that it can sometimes be difficult for the child(ren) to adjust to new people especially if it is a new situation, them being looked after by someone new.
Occasional babysitting | $7.50 per hour |
preferably national living wage, as I need to cover travel costs and pay board, however happy to compromise.
