I am Poppy Eccles, 19 years old and live in a small village just out of Kirkham, Lancashire.
I have 4 younger nieces, aged 1, 5, 7 and 10 and a younger nephew aged 2.
I have a younger cousin aged 7 and one aged 13.
I have a younger brother aged 8 and a younger sister aged 10.
I have looked after my younger siblings from as young as I can remember. My sister in law has recently been in hospital for 3 weeks to which I offered to look after my nieces and nephew for the duration, balancing college and a part time job on the side of it.
I am great with children and love to help them learn.
September 2015 I went to college to study a childcare course but due to certain circumstances had to leave however I am looking to go back to finish the course in the next college year.
As I currently only work part time (on the days that I choose) I am very flexible to work any time including emergencies.
I do not drive however I am leaning and hope to pass my test later this year. This isn't a massive problem as I live very close to bus routes which travel to near by villages and towns, and I am able to pay for taxis or a lift off my mother.
I have had previous experience with children and babies ranging up to 13 years old.
My younger niece and a family friend have speech problems due to habits as a baby, which I am able to help with on a daily basis. I have great patients when dealing with this and the past year my niece and I have managed to over come quite a few problems and she is almost speaking normal.
I have been brought up playing musical instruments and currently a grade 8 in flute. My younger brother has recently taken up the flute which I am able to teach him.
It is a big part of my life when I visit or look after any of my siblings that we play games such as monopoly, uno, do arts and crafts or go to the park.
