Rhiannon, au pair in Cwmbran NP44

hi there, my name is Rhiannon, im 26 and overall i have 10+ years experince looking after children and babies, i have a lot of cousins and have helped look after them over the years, not so much now as they are all growing up but when they were as young as 6 weeks old i was babysitting them on a weekly basis as their parents worked, i have also worked for torfaen play service where i worked with children between the ages of 5-15 years, i enjoyed my role as a playworker because it felt amazing to know you are part of their upbringing, part of a group.

i believe and have been told many times that i am excellent with children, i think its because i can connect with them on a similar level, i know how children work and have learnt alot about them over the years, i tend to get on very easily with children although there are 1 or 2 that take a bit more time to come around maybe because they are shy but i soon win them round with my silly ways.

i think of myself as a very caring friendly person with a bright sense of humour and i love to learn new skills and meet new people, especially children and babies, i definately have the 'mothering instinct' and cannot wait to have children of my own one day, i have a lot of patience and tend to make up my own rules for children as i go along, i am firm but fair, im not all about the fun because lets face it if everyone was about the fun, there would never be a well behaved child, so when things get tough i do not shout i believe it is wrong because then the child thinks its ok to shout back at you, i come down to their level and have a firm deepness in my voice which makes them understand i am not angry but they do need to listen, which usually works, if not theres always the naughty step.

anyway apologies for going on i could talk about children all day long because i love working and looking after them.
