I am 18 years old and have recently finished my A2 exams in Art, English language, History, Politics and Extended project (waiting on results in August). My dream is to become a primary school teacher and so I am looking to study Fine art and Art theory with a teaching degree at University next September. Before then I am looking to spend my time building on my experiences with child care, having enjoyed doing work experience with Whimple Primary school last summer so much.
Growing up in a very large family with 2 younger brothers ( 1 currently 4 and the other 15) as well as 1 older brother and 2 big sisters, I have gained a lot of first hand experience in child orientated environments, looking after, protecting and entertaining them taught me a lot about child care and understanding children. I also gained a lot of enjoyable experience from spending a great deal of summers with my Auntie in somerset - who has 9 children and works as a stay at home mum.
Every weekend I take the responsibility of looking after my 4 year old brother, playing interactive games, making sure he is fed and hydrated and getting him ready and dressed for bed in the evening, which I greatly enjoy. Playing various games from noughts and crosses to dancing to music, building art and making chores such as folding up the washing an enjoyable team game.
I also volunteered as a reading and spelling buddy at both my Primary and secondary school - which enabled me to connect with the younger students and build a repertoire with them.
I am very flexible in the hours, pay and type of care to provide (although I do not yet own a drivings license so rely on cycling and public transport) because I am keen to focus on gaining more experience and helping out.
