I consider myself to be a supportive, caring, happy, bubbly, patient and imaginative person, all of these are traits are crucial when working as a nanny. My work experiences have compounded my desire to become a nanny. I am extremely passionate about working with children, and helping with their development. I am able to work individually as well as part of a team. I like to get stuck in and set the children up with new and exciting activities. These activities will not only be enjoyable but also will be contributing towards their development. These activities can range from involving children in making healthy snacks and meals, getting creative with arts and crafts, reading books, being outdoors and playing imaginative games. All children are different so depending on what their interests are I will plan the activities taking them into consideration. I have worked in both mainstream and special needs schools, with pupils age ranges from 4 to 10 year olds. The experience I gained meant that I was able to interact and play with all different characters, but also academically understand what is being taught in both mainstream and special needs schools.
I am a confident driver with a clean license and have been driving for 16 months. I have completed a paediatric course so I am able to be medically fully aware what precautions to take if a child has an accident or is unwell. I am a strong swimmer having had lessons from the age of 5. I have been awarded a medal for swimming 1 mile. Within the last 2 months I have participated in horse riding lessons. I am able to confidently rise and trot and use both reins. I can also ski at a moderate level.
