**DISCLAIMER (I AM CURRENTLY STAYING WITH MY UNCLE IN CHESTER BUT AM LOOKING FOR WORK IN LONDON AND WISH TO MOVE THERE ASAP.)
My name is Emma , I am 27 years old, born and raised in San Francisco, California and have been working in childcare/ education for over 10 years.
I have excellent communication skills; I am a community person and natural leader as well as a team player that thrives in my element. While teaching at Little Bear preschool I took Early Childhood Education classes at San Francisco City College and was responsible for designing weekly curriculum, art projects, outdoor activities, games and monthly field trips. During my time at my most recent position at Creative Arts Charter School I held the same responsibilities and received many workshop trainings in Responsive Classroom Communication, recognizing and dealing with different levels of trauma in students, conflict resolution, team building activities for children, first aide and CPR and emergency drills; earthquakes, fires and active shooter on-campus lock-down procedures. I was the co-director and supervised 3 adult staff and was responsible for part of their trainings. I also assisted upper grade teachers in their classrooms with supporting them and their most challenging students and worked with their families on creating and maintaining a dialogue and strong relationship so as to keep everyone on the same page. I also created the Staff and Students of Color Committee to make assure that our community worked toward diversity, equality, inclusivity and accountability so that all persons regardless of age, gender, socio-economic background and ethnic background felt respected, safe and heard at all times. This included making sure that non-English speaking families were provided translation services whenever needed and working closely with social workers for our families new to the United States or who were in between housing. While working in Utah for Red Cliff Ascent wilderness therapy program I completed full outdoor survival training and received my Wilderness First Responder certification. I was trained in one-on-one counseling techniques, was responsible for hiking and backpacking with a group of 6-10 boys ages 12-17 through the high desert and teaching them survival skills such as; bow-drilling/ primitive fire making, building animal traps, using a map and compass, creating topographical maps from elements found in nature, building survival shelters, knots, astrology and being a part of a well functioning unit. I was also required to document all client behavior and activity, assist them in their therapeutic homework assignments, administer medication (to some) and check-in weekly with their psychologists.
While I was at my most recent job (Creative Arts Charter School) for the past 3 years I was also a live-in nanny for a family in San Francisco with 3 boys; twins aged 5 and a 9 year old boy. I would help get them ready for school on mornings I didn't have to start early at the school. On nights their mother had evening clients I would Uber straight home from work and cook dinner, bathe the little ones, get everyone ready for bed, clean up the kitchen and then do aroma therapy with the kids after story time and put them to bed. I had my own room and bathroom downstairs but would often bring the kids in my room to watch a movie or tv show in our pajamas and hang out, it was very much a family vibe, which I quite liked.
