If you are looking for a standard babysitter I am not for you. If however you are looking for someone that believes in keeping your child engaged, encouraging confidence, inspiring motivation and who wants to set solid building blocks for their future then I am the person for you.

I am a gap year student of Pharmacy and have 4 summers worth of experience with special educational needs students. As a result I am able to deal with challenging behaviour, multitasking, household organisation etc.
I will happily take part in undertaking chores during my time there, sticking to schedules or implementing my own after your approval etc.

Academic capabilities
I am capable of providing homework help in the following areas and stay on top of the current syllabus:

Early years schooling - moderate experience
Early years foundation stage framework

Primary schooling - moderate experience
New Sats (Ages 6/7, 11/12)

Secondary/sixth form - High level of experience
GCSE examination preparation

Beyond - High level of experience
GCE, University and UCAS applications, Job interview prep etc.

While I do have a solid academic background I am also a firm believer in learning through play. I see every game or play session as a chance to learn something new. I would say I am in some ways a child at heart and bring a level of empathy and understanding others may struggle with.

I personally do not like extended periods of television time and instead prefer play with arts and crafts and roleplaying with stuffed toys especially if a child is trying to process a difficult situation. I like to listen and take my cues from each individual child as opposed to reinforcing my own ideals.

Examples of fun play are:
Roleplaying scenarios from the day with toys and how we could deal with them better next time
Building block games to exercise spatial awareness
Meeting Spotty the Sockpuppet who likes to keep things spotless!
All sorts of arts and crafts (mixing colours, using different textures, fun drawings for the fridge!)
Safe science experiments in the kitchen
