I am a fully qualified and certified Level 3 early years educator (EYE). I am more than capable of providing a safe and nurturing environment for children to develop within. I put the individual child in the centre of my practise and provide them with stimulating opportunities to learn and develop holistically. Planning these carefully using their interests, needs and abilities. I undertook my training at an excellent establishment; the College of Richard Collyer, Horsham. I completed my course in 2 years and achieved 3 A* grades. During the 2 years it took for me to complete my diploma I had a huge range of childcare experiences in a range of different settings. From these experiences I learnt professional and personal skills, relating to caring and educating any child effectively. Working with children is my genuine passion and my lifelong career.
I have a special interest with working with individuals with additional needs and disabilities, this is something I first gained an interest in through many positive experiences working and volunteering. From these experiences I have gained specialist skills such as using PECS- picture exchange communication systems and Makaton. On the weekends I currently work as a Special Educational Needs (SEN) professional assistant. In this role I spend quality one to one time with a young person with additional needs, supporting them to do a range of activities. For example, wherever we go I encourage and support speaking to a cashier and handling money independently.
Alongside this, I have worked full time in a private day nursery for over a year. My role at the nursery is being a practitioner in the baby room (0-2). This involves having key children and the responsibilities that come with this: observing, assessing, planning, formal and informal meetings with parents/carers. This role also involves cooking meals for every child in the nursery (maximum 50!), maintaining a high standard of hygiene and supervising children playing safely. I have thoroughly immersed myself in this role and have also had opportunities to work in both the preschool (3-4) and toddler (2-3) age ranges as well. The nursery itself is very small and in my day to day job I interact with children in all of the age ranges. From my training and experience I am competent and comfortable in caring and educating children from birth to 5 years. Although I have loved working here and have developed professionally as a well-rounded early year professional, I feel I am now ready for a new career as a nanny. Nannying has always been an interest of mine and my long-term career goal which I now would like to start in my next position. I feel that nannying would be a good fit for me personally and professionally. Getting to work with children in a smaller ratio, supporting their development into well-rounded little human beings throughout their childhood is what I’m most looking forward to.
I am fully qualified for the job and can provide copies of any certificates on request. I can provide my DBS Certificate number upon request also. My full paediatric first aid certificate expires in 2022. I also have a level 2 child protection and safeguarding certificate amongst others which I can readily provide copies of. I am a keen learner of all things new and am more than happy to undertake any additional training courses as well as registering with OFSTED as a nanny if needed. I hold a clean full UK (manual) driving licence. I own my own car and am happy to use my car when working or am happy to drive a provided car. I have multiple references which can be contacted upon request. Including the parent of the young adult that I PA for, my college tutor and current employer. I have a full driving licence and am a confident driver, also I have a full British passport and therefore do not need a work visa.
