Faye, au pair in South littleton

Hi I am Faye , I am 29 years of age and I have been minding now for the past 4years for 3 children - aged 9, 7 and 3.
They are my elder sisters children and it's a position I took up after my sister landed her dream role of a midwife and needed extra care for the children during the mammoth shifts she would undertake in the first few years after qualifying.

The care included would be mostly inhouse, looking after the children during the day (when not in school) cooking for them, taking them out for days out , bathing them and putting them into bed. Along with reading them stories, helping with homework and any other light household duties that may have been required within my time.

I grew up in a very big family. Second eldest to 4 other siblings so I have always been around children from a young age and my own mother was also a childminder when we were growing up so it was always a case of getting involved and helping mimic the duties my own mother would carry out.
I have a lot of patience for children and I like to think I am very fair when it comes to bringing myself down to a level where the child feel completely at ease and comfortable in my company by involving them in things that I as a child would have liked. It is a lot harder these days with ipads, computers etc to get children out and about to do things but I think it is vital to try and adapt a childs way of thinking and include them in things like walks, baking, drawing, reading and other types of activities where they can be learning as well as playing and building bonds with you as their minder.
