Samantha, au pair - WN4 Ashton-in-makerfield

Over the last 3 years whilst working for the company, I have worked across two of the settings and gained my level 2 and 3 in childcare during this time. I have gained lots of experience with children of all ages through working in each room, where I have gained an in-depth knowledge of the EYFS and become familiar with children of all ages. In addition, I also worked within the Holiday Club, this included the responsibility of planning for children from the ages of 0-18 and adjusting to fit the needs of those with additional needs. I have become familiar with the policies and procedures of the setting and have learned how to implement a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment for the children. I have gained strong bonds with my guardian children, helping them to develop through the seven areas of learning and help make mould them into the young children they are becoming. I have also gained a great confidence when speaking to parents and feel like I have strong parent partnerships with all of the guardians I come across.
Also I have responsible for parent partnerships whilst working in the Preschool room, this included organising coffee mornings, writing newsletters, giving homework tasks to children based on their interests and development stages and discussing any issues with parents/carers. I made strong bonds with parents/carers across all the rooms during my time at the company. Also, I was the cover for our nursery cook, taking on the role when needed. This included following healthy and nutritional food plans for the children and food hygiene.
