My previous experience with working with children started when I was just in my last year of middle school - early few years of high school when I volunteered at Rainbows in my local village to have the soul care of a young girl with autism, trying to involve her with the group and keeping her occupied with other activities, such as colouring and so on, so she doesn't distract the others girls. When she left Rainbows and went onto Brownies I stopped working there.
In year 11 we all had to do work experience with what we wanted to pursue as a career when we were older, obviously I chose to shadow one of my teachers from my first school, I did this for a week. I was acting as a teachers assistant in the classroom, I was in a different classroom every day, and the last day I stayed in just the one which i chose to be the year 3s.
In 2010 i worked for a company called Kumon Educational as a Classroom Instructor. This offers English and Maths programmes for all ages. All of the instructors as well as myself are committed individuals and want to see children progress and develop. I worked here for 2 years, and would have stayed longer, but at the time i couldn't drive and they relocated to cheltenham.
When I left school after my A Levels I decided to do an apprenticeship in retail for ALDI. Unfortunately the hours here are rather unreliable so I decided to also get a part-time job as a relief Early Years Educator at a local Day Nursery called Busy Bees. I stopped working here because I was no longer needed and as relief staff I wasn't contracted any hours so it was with immediate effect.
I am a bit of an animal lover, me and my partner have a young dog and a kitten. So working with dogs as well as children is no problem.
I personally think i an extremely reliable and mature for my age in the sense that I already have a house with my partner, I do not smoke, drink alcohol or go any where near drugs. I am a very hard worker and will always put 100% into everything I do. I have a full, clean UK driving license.
I did have a CRB/DBS check done before i started working at Busy Bees, but they kept all of the documents because they paid for it, so i don't have proof, but i am willing to undergo another one, and do a First Aid course at college if you required.
I do hope you consider me.
I look forward to hearing back from you soon.
Thank you.
Sophie-Leigh .
