Gemma, au pair - YO10 York

My name is Gemma I am 22 years old and I have recently graduated from York St John University with a BAHons in Children Young People and Families and I have been working with children in a variety of settings for the past 4 years.

I have worked in an out of school children's club with children aged 4-12 for 4 years, whilst studying at university for my children young people and families degree I also worked as bank staff in a nursery with children aged 12 weeks to 4 years, I worked in the nursery as bank staff for 3 years. During my time at university I did nannying for a family with two children a girl aged 5 and boy aged 7, two evenings a week which involved picking the children up from school, taking the children to different activities, cooking their dinner and putting the children to bed. I was a nanny for just short of a year. I also have been babysitting for a family for the last 2/3 years on evenings, usually Saturdays, where I look after two little boys who are 18 months and 4 years old.

I am really eager to develop my career as a full time nanny as I enjoy spending time with children and watching them develop through life. Due to the experience that I have gained through working in different childcare settings, I feel I will be able to provide the family and more importantly, the children with the skills and support that they need. I have my pediatric first aid certificate along with training in safeguarding. I'm a very confident, friendly and chatty person who enjoys keeping busy, socializing and travelling, all of which show in my bubbly personality.
