I enjoy cooking and baking at home and with younger children in a supported environment. I have an interest in writing lyrics and singing. I like to do lots of physical activities such as cycling, walking and badminton. I enjoy looking after children and supporting them in their fine motor skills such as drawing and painting. I have interests in makeup, hair and nail technology.

Many people would probably try to escape when it comes to the topic of younger children especially
messy and noisy toddlers or babies! Although they might find them cute they might not be so interested when it comes to taking care of them.
When it comes to me however, I have always taken interest. It could be that I have always been a
patient, helpful and caring person but going back to my childhood I see it all. Since a young age i
have been one of the oldest cousins to many of my younger cousins in my mother's family and then
later, an older sibling to my 5 younger siblings at different ages. So as you can imagine i have had a
lot of responsibility on top of me to help out with them.
By the time I was going to secondary school
I was able to babysit the little ones for a few hours while aunties and parents were busy doing other
things. It was from there onwards I started to gain experience in dealing with these innocent kids
until now it is something that comes naturally; to me when a child needs help I'm there in a flash.
Recently I was deciding what career I want to follow in my life after year 11 and the first thing that
came to my mind was working with children, which may be quite energy comsuming, but to me I would rather do something I am good at and love. I find it is fascinating how
different children develop in their earlier years; some quicker than others. It is exciting to see the
smiles on their faces as I teach them new things, to help them understand right from wrong and
cheer them up when they are sad about something. They are all unique for example in personalities
and they all have different things they enjoy doing, it’s absolutely adorable. In my opinion a career
working with early years is exactly what I want; to me I wanted a career that would make a
difference in the world not only in my life but in other lives, so by helping a child in their
development I am also somehow helping the future; there is no better way to make the world a
better place.
