Hello I'm Rachel! I have aspirations of becoming a secondary school Maths teacher some day, or potentially a French teacher. I am currently taking a gap year before I go to the University of Southampton to study Maths with French in September 2018, in respect of which I have a deferred place. I love working with children, and have a clear DBS certificate. For two years during Sixth Form I helped two year 7s to read and improve their literary skills and I also tutored a Year 11 in GCSE Maths for one year. I am an experienced babysitter, having babysat for nearly 4 years. For the last 2 years I have volunteered to help with my old primary school's annual play, which I found taught me a great deal about controlling a large group of children. Having a little sister who is 6 and a half years younger than me has meant that talking to children comes very naturally to me. During my free time I like to sing and play the piano and the ukulele; other than this I love hiking, baking and reading and I am currently doing my Gold Duke of Edinburgh award. I would be willing to do more than just babysitting, for example mother's help or similar jobs; however it should be said I have not yet passed my driving test.
