My name is Steph and I'm from a tiny little village in North Yorkshire. I am full of bubbles and love to have fun! I absolutely adore children as they have such active imaginations which enables them to create fun out of pretty much anything!
Towards Christmas time, Halloween, Easter and other public holidays, I love to organise fun seasonal activities, such as arts and crafts.
I'm currently learning to drive and hoping to have a full license by December.
I've worked in a few different childcare settings. The most important and exciting setting was when I worked as a Childminder's Assistant, caring for children aged 10 months to 12 years. This was a great experience for me as I learnt a lot about different activities that help child development.
I have also worked in different school setting with different ages. I've mentored a 10 year old boy who struggled with dyslexia. I helped him develop his confidence before progressing to secondary education.
Over my two years in sixth form, I took part in a reading program in which I read to a year seven student. This gave her an opportunity to discuss any concerns about her classes with me or tell me any problems she may have been having since starting at secondary school.
I've also worked in different classes at my local primary school, offering extra help to children with their learning.
I do have a first aid certificate, although this is just a standard certificate and not a paediatric one.
Through my years in sixth form, I studied Art & Design and Child Development. I learnt a lot about different techniques in art and developed my creativity. In child development, I learnt all about children's developmental needs and what parents, guardians and childcare workers can do to encourage development.
Overall, I just adore working with children and seeing their perspective of everything. Their imaginations are truly incredible.
