Hello! My name is Rachel Bennett and I am a recent graduate of Lancaster University, where I studied for and achieved a Bachelor's degree in Theoretical Physics. Since graduating, I have launched my own business as a freelance illustrator, and within this context I am selling my own illustrations as well as offering my illustration services for leaflets, invitations and children's books. I am interested in applying for the position of a babysitter for your family, as I hope in the future to work with children as a teacher and am already working on illustrating some children's books, so would love to build on the experience I already have working with young children. I have worked with children between the ages of 5 and 13 years as a voluntary Sea Scout leader for two years, and only stopped volunteering with the group due to moving away from the area to attend University. My duties as a Leader included playing games, organizing activities, preparing snacks and drinks and teaching some Scouting related skills to groups of up to twelve young children. Since University, I have started my own part-time illustration business, and as such I am currently looking for some part-time work to fit along side this. I looked after three children on a part time basis for a family over the course of six months and gained a wealth of experience from this, and since then have used my experience working with young children to host Toddler mornings at Anglesey Sea Zoo. I am very flexible with regard to working hours and as an artist, I am also adept at fun creative activities, and face painting, and can even supply my own face paints if required, and love getting hands on with any sort of craft activities!
