Alison, baby sitter - EX18 Chawleigh

I have been teaching, as Art co-coordinator, alongside the Head of Teaching and Learning at Bishops Nympton Primary School. The diverse group of year 5 and 6 children in this setting were inspired and supported by the adults who work alongside them. There is a conviction that all children can achieve their potential in all aspects of school life. I am passionate about children’s aptitude for creative learning through the arts and the environment.

During my time at Bishops Nympton, I built relationships of mutual trust and respect with parents, colleagues and children. In both headship and advisory roles, empathy and humor have proved vital in facilitating those around me to feel understood and valued. If I were appointed to the role as, these qualities and experiences would enable me to work sensitively alongside parents. I enjoy working independently, in a multi-faceted setting where demands work are rigorous and engaging.

While my children were at school I made the decision to work part time. This enabled me to have the invaluable experience of spending time with other parents, managing the play group and volunteering at Scouts. These have been vital and varied experiences that have developed the essential skills necessary for the role as a child carer. Throughout my career, I have many opportunities to engage in the multidisciplinary nature of work alongside the wider community. Whilst Parent and Pupil Educator on the Isles of Scilly, my role included the use of
environmental and historical settings to support families.

The broad range of skills that I have acquired in both educational and non-educational settings, mean that I am excited to apply for the vacancy with your children.
