My name is Libby and I am a fourth year medical student. I am fun-loving, responsible and I love working with children!
Whilst studying I have worked as a nanny looking after two young boys. This has been really enjoyable work and I have gained many skills from helping with homework to behaviour management (and I have had a lot of fun). During university holidays I work at a children’s day camp with children age 4-12, this involves bing responsible for up to 20 young children, providing art and sports activities as well as ensuring their happiness and safety at all times. During the summer I specialised in early years- ages 4 and 5- and became accustomed to the way of working with this age group- providing learning opportunities and being patient with different levels of development.
I am also actively involved volunteering directly with children at two different children’s organisations in Edinburgh- Teddy bear hospital, which teaches primary school children about safety, the human body and health as well as Children’s holiday venture which provides outings for children from disadvantaged backgrounds. At school I volunteered as a swimming coach for children with disabilities. I also have a three year old nephew who I have helped care for from infancy.
I have an enhanced PVG check and I am a qualified first aider. In August I am completing an OFSTED approved 12 hour paediatric first aid course. I am happy to supply references.
I am available evenings and weekends.
