My name is Kimberley, I am 22 years old and live in Hamilton. I have helped look after children since I was a child myself. My mum was a foster carer, which meant a lot of children coming through our home and as I was the oldest child I helped a lot. Obviously when I was younger it was simpler tasks, but as I've grown up I took on a lot of responsibility within the household and did all the same "parent" things my mum would. This taught me how to manage my time better and multitask while running a home in a warm loving way. I have also previously volunteered for my local Rainbows group which involved planning and carrying out activities each week for about 10-15 girls. This taught me how to plan educational and fulfilling activities for the girls and follow specific guidelines set out by the Girl Guides. One of my main hobbies is baking, I have experience in baking with children and it offers a lot of learning opportunities. Due to personal circumstances we are no longer foster carers, I love children and looking after them so I am now looking for part time work with children.
