Laura, baby sitter in Lytham

I am a second year student studying sociology at Edge Hill University. I am currently looking for part-time employment to work with my university hours. I currently work at two nursing homes in Lytham St Annes. With my previous jobs, I have dealt with a wide range of people from young to old and I would see myself as cheerful, out-going and conscientious individual.

Relevant Work Experience

January 2014- December 2014: Ribby Hall Village, Crèche Assistant

My job is to provide short term childcare in a safe and caring environment as part of a team with six other employees.

The main duties of my role are to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the children.

As well as being able to develop a good working relationship with children and parents which will therefore create a happy, harmonious and fun atmosphere within the Crèche.

I am also responsible for carrying out monthly health and safety risk assessments for the premises and the equipment. This includes filling in the required paperwork and reporting any faults to my line manager.

July 2010- Present: Century Healthcare LTD, Activities Co-Ordinator.

My job is to provide the residents with fun and interesting activities such as reminiscence therapy, art & crafts, games such as bingo and day trips out.

The activities have to be suited to a wide range of disabilities, such as Alzheimer's or those with a visual impairment and reduced mobility.

I also support residents on a one to one basis in their individual room. I will then do individual activities such as reading the newspaper, playing board games and pampering them.

I also have to plan activities for the following week for staff and give them simple and easy instructions to follow.
