My name is Abigail and I currently work at a play centre, where I interact with children on different levels. We host birthday parties, so that gives me a chance to interact with the children on a more personal level and actually get to know them. It's a great opportunity to meet so many different characters and personalities.

I have studied childcare on a BTEC level and GCSE level. On my BTEC course I got the chance to assist a primary school teacher with her classes for a few days. It was so great to be a part of the children's life's at school whilst learning. I got to see how they learn in different ways and which pupils were more advanced than others, even though they were of the same age group. My activities whilst I was helping out included one on one reading time with the children, assisting in their lessons, patrolling the play ground at break time and organising my own activities to entertain the children.

I would say I am an understanding person that is kind and thoughtful towards others. I like to help other people where I can and when I'm needed.
