Rachel, baby sitter in Stockton-on-tees TS19

My name is Rachel . I am 21 years of age and I live in Ingleby Barwick with both my parents. I have recentley completed a Health and Social Care BTEC Diploma Level 3 at Stockton Riverside College and recieved the grades PASS, MERIT MERIT. Since then I have been working at a charity named Mencap caring for individuals with challenging behaviours, mental health and learning difficulties within a supported living environment.

I have always been interested in caring for babies and children. I started a childcare course at college in 2012 but due to family circumstances I had to leave and are yet to follow my dreams of working with children. However whilst I was on this course for a short while I completed a placement in a primary school which i thourghley enjoyed.

The qualties I think I have to succeed in caring for babies and children in the best possible way is I find myself a good listener which I think is a good quality as it helps me provide the best care as I will know exactly what they would like. I am a kind and friendly person, hardworking and very reliable. I also think I have a fun side to my personality which would defintley come out whilst looking after the children. I like a challange and I always strive to do my best.

The experience I have with working with babies and children is that I have had placements in various primary schools. I also worked in a nursery for 6 months whilst on a childcare apprenticeship which unfortunalty could not be completed due to the companys funding! I also had experience last year looking after new born babies due to caring for my friends when she needed help. I also occasionally babysit family members such as my cousins.
