I currently work in a day centre for people with a learning disability where my role is to plan and implement interesting activities for the clients whose needs and abilities vary greatly.
The activities can be art and crafts, quizzes, games, singing, dancing, sports etc.
I have been there for 17 years and in that time also brought my son up who is now 18, so also have my own hands on experience.
Other duties in this job includes cooking with the clients and menu planning, activities in the community such as picnics, museums, cinema, shopping, bowling etc. I also do a huge range of admin, book keeping, record keeping etc as well as keeping up to date with training and i currently have my food and hygiene, first aid and i have NVQ level 4 in health and social care.
Previous jobs i have worked as a nanny in 3 different settings and worked at 4 different nursery schools.
I would consider working at someone's home with any age ranges and happy to help with jobs around the home.
Monday to Fridays 9-3 or part of. Something around 25 hrs would be ideal.
I have a good sense of humour, friendly, chatty and very easy going.
I also have my own car.
Running a day service i need to be organised and imaginative with activities for all abilities!
