My name is Molly, I'm 17 years old, 18 at the end of August.
I'm currently studying applied science at my local college, 3 days a week - Monday 9-4:30
Wednesday 11:30-4:30
Thursday 9-2:30
Last year at college I studied health, social and child care, during the course I learnt about how too care for elderly, young people and children, I learnt about different services available in the local areas, how to help others access helpful services.
I have learnt how to recognise different types of abuse and how to go about dealing with it properly.
Safe guarding, confidentiality, code of conduct, and how to set up a personalised care plan.
I've learnt about different types of communication, including, lip reading, sign language, picture/symbol cards, and too speak clearly, slowly and not to mumble.
Arrange actives for all different ages and adapt them too the needs of individuals I'm caring for.
Learnt about food allergies, cooking food properly and eating the right types of foods.
Different types of disabilities and how to prevent discrimination.
I have also learnt a lot about how to prevent exclusion and be able to include persons with disabilities too feel included.
I have learnt about how to plan an outing, filling out risk assessments and making sure there is transport for all individuals.
And most importantly how too make sure all the individuals I am caring for are happy and safe.
