Hi, I'm Sakinah. I completed my A levels in biology, chemistry and mathematics and I’m currently on a gap year. I recently volunteered with International Citizen Service in Ghana for 3 months and I am looking for a babysitting or part-time care job.
I have experience with children through babysitting my six nieces and nephews as well as my younger siblings. I am patient and caring and know how to communicate with children They enjoy playing many games, sports, colouring, arts and crafts and reading. I also help them with homework and tutor them in mathematics, English and science when I have spare time.
During school I was a mentor and a prefect where I was a role model to younger students and assisted teachers to supervise break and lunch times. As my role as a listener, trained by the Samaritans, younger students were able to approach me and talk to me about any problems they had they felt they could not approach a teacher with.
I also volunteered in Sri Lanka at a centre for children living in poverty as a result of the tsunami. I taught the children nursery rhymes and assisted the teachers in activities such as colouring and dancing. During my volunteer placement in Ghana we organised a crafts and arts fair to promote fair trade, as a children's activity I did face painting, which they all loved. We also did party games on the stage such as dancing statues.
My experiences have taught me to be patient and caring with children as well as not forgetting to have fun and be creative!
Recent DBS check.
Occasional babysitting | $7.00 per hour |
Partial / after-school care | $5.50 per hour |
I believe these are reasonable rates however, I am flexible, dependant on the family's needs.
