Shirley, baby sitting in Redditch

I am a 58 year old proud grandma of one grandson aged almost 5. I am taking a part time degree in English Language and Literature and plan to progress to a teaching post with children who have special educational needs. I am currently a homemaker who enjoys sewing, knitting, crochet, cooking, reading, crosswords, collages and painting. I am capable of helping with homework to age 10, however some sciences are not my forte (Chemistry and Physics) but biology ok. I am available after school/collection from school by own newish car until 5pm, possibly 5.30pm, every day of the week. Plus daytime care on a part time basis. Unable to do early mornings currently.

I am creative, English is my native tongue, I was born in Redditch area, although I have travelled the globe somewhat and lived in London for a few years, my career for the most part, was as a secretary for the NHS from which I took early retirement a few years ago.

I am respectful of all people, no matter what their age, but good manners are an essential basis for building good relationships.

I am great at balloon tennis on rainy days, making something to play with out of ordinary things, e.g. cushions, blankets make dens; empty toilet roll holders and a bit of glue make great castles; water and flour make great dough/concrete. The rest is done with the child s' imagination.
