I am currently a student at the University of York studying Environmental Geography. I currently have a part time job as a barista and sales assistant but need extra money in order to continue my studies. I really adore children and am in awe of their energy and imagination and the light they bring to people's lives. I have grown up around children as my mum was a child minder in our home for 9 years as I grew up. I looked up to her for the sheer amount of care and love she gave to those children and aspire to be able to help families out in the way she did. I always helped her in feeding, changing and looking after the children and loved my experiences. I also now look after my friends gorgeous two year old boy and have tackled all the challenges of a baby alongside him, including feeding, changing and putting him to bed, and would love to be able to experience this growth and development with another family also. I am more than happy to look after an only child and give them the attention and companionship they need to flourish, but am also keen to look after several children and teach them key skills that come with being around other children. I love cooking and cleaning and I'm definitely not afraid of tackling the mess that comes with children. I am looking for work that can fit around my currently job however my currently role is very flexible and usually only requires one weeks notice for shifts I can and can't attend. I am very friendly and bubbly and myself am full of the energy and resilience that is required for looking after children.
Occasional babysitting | $7.50 per hour |
I am currently a student struggling financially and can only base my rates of pay on hourly rates I have received from previous employment. I have looked after my friends son, who is currently two, and I usually get paid around £10 an hour but that was decided by the father, as I understand this is a very high rate and I would not ask for that myself.
