Francesca, babysitter in Bacton HR2

I'm a 20 year old first year Anthropology student at Durham University but I am from Hereford and will be here for the holidays, (which are very long!) I have previous experience in childcare, although not on a professional level. I au paired in Spain for 2 young girls in my gap year and I also looked after and taught children in an orphanage in Cambodia for a month. I often babysit for local families and in my gap year I volunteered at my local forest-school pre-school, where the children were encouraged to use their outdoor environment to entertain themselves and each other which was amazing, it was great to see the children engaging with nature instead of sitting in front of screens!

I love spending time with children and enjoy doing activities with them, especially if they are art or music related as I'm a passionate musician; I have Grade 8 in Violin and Singing and also play the guitar and ukulele, (although I've taught myself those). My Steiner education taught me the importance of other activities such as these and gave me a lot of creative craft and music ideas that I would love to share!

I like teaching as well and so would be happy to help with homework or anything else education wise. In my GCSE's I got A*s in English Language and Literature, an A in Art and Spanish and a B in Maths. At A level I achieved an A in Biology, Psychology and Spanish and a B in Music and I am still studying Spanish at University so I should hopefully be able to cope with any homework standards that are set for the children. However, I would try and implement more creative and engaging ways of helping the children with any work as, in my experience, I do not believe simple rote learning to be particularly effective.
