Laurie, babysitter - CB5 Cambridge

I am 18 years old and female. I am in my third year at college and am currently working on my level 3 in childcare. I am friendly and confident and have a natural ability to connect with children. When I have finished college I will be going to University to pursue my chosen career as a Primary School Teacher.
I have had experience in working with children from 2014 - present with children aged from 10 months to 5 years. In my placements I work as a part of a team with the Nursery Practitioners as well as on my own to meet the children’s development needs and ensure they are happy and safe. I help to create a safe and stimulating environment for the children and plan and carry out activities to extend their play and learning.
My day to day roles were to, make sure everyone was having fun, set up a learning play area, prepare and serve snack and lunch, support the children with their emotional well-being and encourage their individual learning and development. I read, sing, play, build, paint and go outdoors with the children and am confident when leading activities. I have a good knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage. I am now working in a reception class so on top of following the EYFS I am also helping children with their emergent literacy and mathematics.
