My name is Jodie , I am 21 years old and have a 3 year old boy named Thomas-Ray. I have studied for 2 years as a trainee nursery nurse and became qualified in childcare at NVQ level 3 in 2016. I have 3 years of childcare experience and love caring for and working with children. I have also cared for my younger siblings. I have a very bubbly and fun personality and children find me very comfortable to be around and I'm very trustworthy. Confidentiality and safeguarding are very important to me and absolutely key. In previous jobs I have carried out observations of the children and had my own group of key children where I created activities for them to take part in, using the EYFS, including outdoor play. I am interested in all aspects of childcare.

Jodie worked as a preschool assistant at Jack and Jill from march-July 2017. She carried out many duties and responsibilities including; Being a key person for 5 children Observing and evaluating video observations Using online learning journal to track development Following nappy changing routines, snack routines and outdoor supervision of children playing Attending staff meetings regularly Supporting staff to maintain a stimulating environment Supporting children in continuous provision Following policies and procedures within the playgroup Liaising with staff daily Liaising with parents/caters and families daily Jodie worked part time at jack and Jill and developed good relationships with all staff. She demonstrated a genuine interest in furthering her knowledge in the role of SENCO. I feel with the right training, support and time she would fulfill this role well. She quickly made herself aware with the online learning journey system. She was able to follow instructions and to use her own initiative extending play opportunities for children, engaging at their level and identifying their needs. Jodie is a team player and with support, will benefit from having more experience within a setting she will develop skills to further enhance her skills. Jodie is a kind and caring young lady with an eagerness to enhance her knowledge.
