I am a bubbly out going character and I have a passion for providing care to children. This includes planning activities which meet development need but also encourage children to grown and learn. I have previously completed a CACHE Level 3 Childcare and Education course at a B grade overall. Where I have undergone various placements, working with a variety of different age groups and settings. Throughout all my placements I have been able to extend the knowledge I have gained through my coursework as well as being able to extend on my theoretical knowledge. Outside of college and placements I have experience with a range of ages due to having younger siblings and I have always taken an active role in helping out with their day to day activities. I would say I am a hardworking resilient student as I have completed all work set and have completed deadlines. Throughout my previous course I have always tried my best in all my work and when things have not gone as well as I thought I have tried again so I could achieve the best grades I could. I can handle myself under pressure and I do not let things around distract me from achieving my goal. Throughout out all my placements I have worked as part of a team effectively and have listened to the advice given to me by my placement supervisors. Being able to work as part of a team has allowed me to develop my problem solving skills during both college and placement. As I have been able to identify and define any problems which have arisen and found solutions to these problems. I have recently completing first year BA(hons) Abuse Studies and Education studies at Manchester Metropolitan University and throughout all my assignments I have tried my best to overcome barriers which have affected me, this has shown as I have received my level 4 certificate. Outside of the classroom I have taken part in extra-curriculum activities. While in college I took an active role in helping during the open evenings and graduation events. Also I have taken an active role in organizing a charity event with the other students on my previous course. The event took a lot of planning and time but once the final product came together you could really see all the hard work which had been put into the event. Our final total was GBP527.64. This is just one of the charity events I have helped to put together another charity event I organised was a variety show which was in aid of Breast Cancer. This event was only a small event but it still required good team work between me and the other people organizing this event. I am proud of the work I have done for charity. I would call myself a reliable, trustworthy person who is always happy to help others in any way I can. I am also able to take on new challenges and situations in a mature way which allows me to find the best outcome. During my time at Manchester Metropolitan University I have taken upon the role as a course representative, attending meetings with lectures discussing issues which have arisen from other students and discussing how changes can be made to give students the best degree possible. I have a love for traveling and exploring new places and I am fortunate enough to have worked a summer season with Thomas cook as an overseas kid’s rep and entertainment host. This was a fantastic opportunity and I thoroughly enjoyed my time which is why I am looking at return to finish my degree before I go and travel again.
