In my own personal activities, I have found that I enjoy English and Novelistic Literature and with these skills I discovered myself to be beneficial in the assistance of my brother who has autistic tendencies due to his lack of communication skills. I am very open with my confidence when in a new environment and carry myself with a stable emblematic; this influences the optimism of my peers. My involvement of technology due to the excessive use of skills such as communications via mobile phone or computer have evolved my social interactions and they came very useful for managing meetings with mentors and keeping track of any important appointments that require my presence. As far as my attempts in my activities are concerned, I am a very tenacious individual and will not hesitate to complete assignments beyond my current abilities. In year 11, I completed my work experience for two weeks at Cheeky Chimps play centre in Harwich, Essex. This consisted of registering young children as they came into the play centre. I also helped within the catering area by bringing food out to the customers and cleaning up after they had finished their meal. I also engaged with the children why they was playing on the playing equipment and at the same time made sure that all of the children were safe while under our supervision. As a young child, I have found myself to be very intrigued by the creative perspective and have chosen to explore this with many interesting events that mainly evolved physical theatre. I would consider myself as an artistic individual who is also competitive and wants to be better than before.
At the age of 9 I participated in a youth theatre group in Clacton on Sea which was called “Princes Theatre Youth Company”. Within the youth company we would perform shows that was a well-known musical. We have done many well-known musicals e.g. “Grease, Bugsy Malone” etc. I found this experience when being a part of the youth company very challenging but also very exciting. The challenging part about the youth company was having to perform in front of an audience within the theatre but many of us overcame our fear of having to perform in front of audience. However the most exciting part of being a part of the youth company was having the opportunity to perform well known musicals and made it our own version. The Princes Theatre Youth Company also opened the Clacton Air Show in 2009 by performing Michael Jacksons well known songs which were “Bad, Thriller” etc. I found this experience also challenging due to the fact we were dancing in front the whole of the community not only the parents of the children who were participating in the youth company. I have always enjoyed participating and performing shows ever since this experience when being a part of the youth company and I hope to continue this experience throughout my life.
