My name is Rachel and I am a 34 year old mother and student.
My childcare experience started in 2006 when I had my own child. I then qualified as a Childminder and registered with OFSTED in 2011. I obtained my level 3 in Early years and Young People in April 2012. I realised how much this helped me in my job role and I obtained Level 4 in Early Years with Open University in July 2014. In Jan 2014 I stopped home care and went in to care at a pre school as a room assistant. I was asked by my manager to step in to the role as pre-school room leader in April 2015 which I accepted. I am proud to say under my leadership the pre-school obtained an OUTSTANDING grade at OFSTED in July 2015. I have just left this employment to study as a Primary School Teacher and I am looking for work to help support my studies. I currently babysit for a few regular families on Ad Hoc basis and I am happy to continue to do this as well as pick up more regular home help and care for children where required.
I love planning fun activities for the children and getting to know the families. I would love to continue to be able to do this while I study.
