Hi,

My name is Sarah, I am a bubbly, enthusiastic 15 year old and I am dedicated to helping out as much as I can!

I am looking to provide flexible weekend care, and can be available on some evenings though that would have to be scheduled due to personal reasons concerning my family. Additionally, as I am still in full-time education, availability is restricted to some school evenings and all day weekends, with after school work being dependent on the location I am traveling to. As a carer I hope to be friendly and cheerful with children of all ages, and as helpful as possible.

My experience with childcare comes from my family, as I have 2 younger siblings and many younger cousins. Through my home life I have experience with children with learning disabilities such as ASD and dyspraxia, among others.

I also volunteer with the Ability2Play program run by my local sporting club, a group designed to provide sporting and social activities for children and teens with physical and mental disabilities.

Other experience in childcare includes my volunteering as a Young Leader for a local Scout group, dealing with children aged from 6-14; as a student teacher at a ballroom dance school I attend, where I teach children from ages 3-13, and throughout my time in high school I have taken part in several projects for primary schools in the area, such as: running stalls at summer fairs, teaching after school clubs Spanish (basic introductions and description for 4-7 year olds) , and reading stories to nursery and reception pupils to celebrate World Book Day.

While I have no formal qualifiactions, through school and Scouting I have completed various first aid courses from the Red Cross and other associations, including emergency and first response aid, all in the last 5 years.

In my free time, when I am not taking part in any of my volunteer work, I enjoy several hobbies, ice skating for example, which I took lessons in for 6 years before quitting to allow more time for school work. I also like to read and pursue other sports, though mainly ballroom and freestyle dance, and kickboxing. Currently I study French, Spanish, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Philosophy, English Language and Literature, and Maths at a GCSE level.

Due to this experience I am very happy to take part or oversee games for children, help with homework and generally enjoy a wide range of activities with children of all ages and interests.
