Grace, babysitter in Glasgow

Hello! My name is Grace. I am a 21 year old student. I study French, English and Art History in Glasgow, but have been living and working in France for 7 months, teaching English to children. I am a fun loving person, who loves being outside, rain or shine. I love sports, yoga, cycling and surfing in particular, and I would say I am quite a creative person as someone who loves to paint, photography and making random things. I love travelling and embracing new cultures. and love to cook new food and bake cakes. I spent my previous Summers abroad with families in Iceland and the Outer Hebrides and have lots of experience teaching, doing daycare, babysitting and tutoring. I love working with children, their energy amazes me and feel I am a good person for this job because of that. I am hard-working and value this, by nature I would say I am calm and light-hearted and genuinely happy all of the time I have worked for the past seven months in France as a language assistant and have loved every second of it. Having the opportunity to help children on their way to becoming who they are is a very worthwhile occupation. I have been preparing lessons for children and providing a fun and different working environment every day thus far. As a language assistant in France, I had to be a responsible and attentive mentor on a daily basis, but I didn't have to adhere to the strict curriculum schedules the professional teachers did , but instead experimented, had fun and tried my best to provide the kids with fun activities, like Irish dancing, music classes, drama classes, chess tournaments and some slightly fiery 'Pictionary' battles. I love working with children and am so grateful for the experience I have had this year and feel comfortable that I am a reliable and enthusiastic person who can handle any situation I am thrown. I am also a very energetic person, which is why I feel so compatible with the children I work with, it's always colourful. I would very much like to work as a babysitter in the coming year and hope that I will be able to learn as much from a family as I can share with them.
