I am a 48 year old mother of 2 teenage daughter aged 16 and 18. I am happily married and have been for 20 years. When I had my daughters I decided that I wanted to be at home with them as much as I possibly could, and was fortunate enough to be able to do this as I did my husbands accounts and wages for his company at home enabling me to be with them all the time. We had a lovely time going off to toddler groups, dancing, swimming and had a wide range of friends who had children of similar ages for both myself and my girls to socialize which I felt very important. When my youngest daughter went to playgroup I felt lost. The staff there could see my natural "love of children"and was lucky enough to be offered a job at the playgroup. This was my dream come true and continued doing this for 7 years when my husband decided to start up his own health and safety consultancy and I gave up work to help him get it off the ground.
My daughters are now very independent, one is doing A levels the other is off to uni next year and so I need to do something for me again. I've thought about what I would like to do and feel that my natural love of being around children is the way for me to go.
In my job I had qualifications in early years level 2 , first aid and safeguarding, although the later two have now lapsed unfortunately but would be willing to do them again if necessary.
