My name is Annabel and I am a first year medical student at Newcastle University looking for some part-time baby sitting work to help supplement my very expensive fees!
I was a prefect at school where I mentored a Year 7 for the year and also a Year 7 form. I have a younger sibling who I looked after frequently when growing up, and due to this I believe I have a good amount of experience in looking after children and can be trusted to take care of them properly.
I have a first aid certificate from a course I completed at St John's Ambulance and part of my course requires that I am able to perform CPR on adults, children and babies.
I am able to hoover, dust, bleed radiators, clean bathrooms, mop floors and disinfectant work surfaces. I can also cook quite well (my skills have improved since I've been at uni!) but as I am a vegetarian I would be limited as to what I could make for the children. However after school or bedtime snacks would be very easy for me to manage.
I'm happy to play any games the children want to e.g. dress up, hide and seek etc, and help them with their homework. I took A levels in Biology, Chemistry and History so I would be best at helping with science homework, but I would also be able to help with English, Maths, Spanish and History as I took these subjects at GCSE and received As and A*s.
I have multiple CRB checks as I did work experience at Alder Hey children's hospital, the Maelor in Wrexham and I volunteered at Nightingale Hospice in Wrexham.
I feel I'm a fun and friendly person who can keep children safe, happy and entertained, whilst making sure they finish their homework and go to bed on time. Although I have no professional experience in looking after children, I feel my work experience, family responsibility and school prefect duty have prepared me enough to allow me to baby sit children of most ages.
