My name is Amy and I'm 18 years old, almost 19. I have just finished my A Levels and hope to go to university in the autumn to study Art and earn my degree. I would like to have a career in art therapy with children so baby sitting and child care is a good place to further my experience.
I am cautious, creative, open minded, and fair which I believe are all helpful traits to have for child care since I can provide fun but also rules. I feel my age is advantageous as it engages kids well since I may seem more 'on their level' due to the smaller age gap, but I can maintain authority of course. Alongside this, children engage me too; I enjoy listening and working with them - I volunteered in a year 7-8 art class for two years. I enjoyed this time very much and it actually made me realise that I'd like to work with children since it was lovely to see them develop over the two years, art-wise and growing-up-wise, which I found rewarding. In regards to ensuring I can maintain an authority, I had to do this throughout these two years.
When it comes to activities and games I could provide, drawing could certainly be one. Creative activities like origami or card making I would love to do too. I'd also be happy to read, play board games, and help with homework etc. I play the piano so if your children do too/would like to then I'd be happy to help or teach.
Occasional babysitting | $7.50 per hour |
Partial / after-school care | $5.00 per hour |
I'm mainly applying for job experience in child care (I want to be an art therapist for children) so I am happy to earn the minimum/whatever is offered.
No recommendations yet, soon it will be your turn?
